Cone 6 Porcelain

Cone 6 Porcelain is a smooth porcelain clay body that has exceptional throwing characteristics and very good strength. Being a true porcelain this clay is translucent when fired to cone 6. Cone 6 Porcelain fires white in oxidztion and a light gray in reduction.

50/50 Mix

50/50 Mix fires to a natural reddish tan color in oxidation and a medium red brown under reduction. 50/50 mix combines the clays of Quarry Tile and Sculpture Mix plus a 80-mesh grog resulting in a smooth creamy plastic texture. An excellent wheel clay.

Navajo Wheel

Navajo Wheel is a blend of IMCO clays selected to produce a smooth textured plastic red clay. Navajo Wheel is an excellent wheel and hand building clay where deep red tile color is desired. An excellent clay for school.

Navajo Wheel 35

Navajo Wheel 412 is an outstanding throwing body, especially formulated for the studio potter as well as the production potter. Navajo Wheel 412 contains a 35 mesh grog that lends good structural strength enabling the potter to throw tall forms and still retain smoothness while throwing. A rich red tile color at cone 5 or 6 and a dark brown can be acquired with a moderate reduction at cone 5.

 Stoneware 1-C

Stoneware 1-C fires to a sandstone color in oxidation and a brown in reduction. Stoneware 1-C contains a fine silica sand to make an excellent smooth textured wheel clay which will produce vitreous stoneware pottery within the temperature range of an electric kiln. Stoneware 1C will give the appearance of a cone 10 reduction clay body when fired to cone 5 in oxidation,

Sculpture 50

Sculpture 50 is a sculpture clay formulated with the potter in mind. Excellent for sculpting or wheel throwing from small to large and tall forms. A very strong clay, Sculpture 50 uses a blend of grogs to give good hand building and wheel qualities. Sculpture 50 fires from a buff color in oxidation at cone 5 to pleasant reddish tones in reduction at cone 10.

DC 3-5

Designed as a multi-purpose mid range stoneware, DC 3-5 is a good wheel throwing clay with a 70 mesh sand that trims to a smooth almost burnished surface. Excellent for sculpting, slab work and coiling techniques. DC 3-5 has very good drying characteristics which will reduce warping and cracking problems. Fires to an off-white color in oxidation and a light grey in reduction.
