Originally developed to look like snow on the tips of ceramic tree branches, lava glaze works well when applied on top of a glaze where it puffs up. Lava glaze provides a unique decorative surface for raku or other lowfire applications. Applied thickly, it aggressively forms a cracked surface upon firing.
